Boomerang Student Planner Bank Note Design Competition
What’s so interesting about bank notes?
Bank Notes come in all shapes and sizes, sporting beautiful designs, patterns and colours that are not only nice to look at but also make them hard to copy. .
A key part of this is a technique called ‘Guilloche’. Guilloche is a printing technique using engraved metal to create a series of intricate, layered geometric shapes and lines that are almost impossible to replicate. .
Bank notes also help show off our cultural identity, with many choosing to use national icons, monuments and animals as part of these designs. Notably, since animals are so important across the world, wildlife is used on nearly 1/6th of the worlds bank notes!
