What’s it all about?
As an apprentice, you’ll :
- Work alongside experienced staff
- Gain job-specific skills
- Earn a wage and get time for study related to your role (usually 1 day a week).
Apprenticeships take 1-5 years to complete (depending on level) and you can apply while you’re still at school. To start one, you’ll need to be 16 or over, living in England and not in full-time education.
Not feeling quite ready yet? If you think you might need more experience, consider a traineeship, which is designed to prepare you for an apprenticeship: www.gov.uk/find-traineeship
