Perks of being a student

Did someone say student discount?

Student life can get pricey so bagging a bargain is essential. Fortunately, lots of high street stores and restaurants offer great student perks.

Firstly, most places will accept your issued student ID to prove that you’re a student but if you really want to reap the benefits of your student discount, there are plenty more cards/ subscriptions which prove even more handy when it comes to saving your pennies!

TOTUM (formerly NUS) student cards (available to students aged 16 and over) cost only £12 per year giving you access to an abundance of student discounts and is widely accepted at most stores. TOTUM card holders can receive more exclusive offers.

UNiDAYS is an ‘on the go’ solution for all student discounts as it uses an app over the plastic card. Discounts are available both in-store and online, all you must do is enter and confirm a valid student email address. Then the UNiDay’s app can be downloaded to your phone displaying a student ID anytime so you never miss a bargain! Student Beans is a similar app with equally good discounts!

Heading to uni? Living away from home? It’s worth signing up for a Sainsburys Nectar card and Tesco Clubcard if you food shop at either. Food shopping is often one of student’s largest expenses, you’d be surprised how quickly points add up! You can collect with petrol purchases and even shopping through several high street brands online, then exchange your collection of points for money off vouchers!

Happy shopping!
